Terraced houses have risend faster in value than any other property type, according to a report today.
Over the last 10 years, the average price has risen by 239 per cent compared to an 205 per cent increase for all properties.
Flats and maisonettes have increased by 235 percent while detached houss and bungalows had the slowest rise 196 percent.
The average terraced house now costs £186,316 up from £54,945 in 1996. But thy are still far cheaper than detached houses which have an average price tag of £326,396.
Tim Crawford from Halifax Estate agents, which carried out the research, said:"Terraced properties have seen the largest house price increases. In many cases this is a result of the availabitilty of property types and the composition of historic stock".

Yeah, i'm always looking for great deals on terraced houses, because they are by far the most profitable, from what I have seen. Detached homes are way too expensive for the average buyer, so I think terrace houses are in much demand, hence the best form of housing investment.
